What's In Your Way Coaching · Established Couples Supplemental
We try to love each other as best we can. We just don't know everything that gets in our way.
What This Work Sees
Some couples come to this because something feels off and they can't name it. Some come because the drift has been quiet but steady and they're finally ready to look at it. And some come because everything is genuinely going well — and they want to make sure they're tending to it the way it deserves.
This is for all three.
Most couples don't arrive at distance all at once. It accumulates. Quietly. In the things that don't get said. In the needs that go unnamed. In the moments where one person reached and the other didn't quite feel it. In the routines that replaced the intentions. In the growing apart that neither person chose and neither person fully noticed until one day the gap was just — there.
This isn't a course for couples in crisis. It isn't couples therapy. It isn't a program designed to fix what's broken. It is a space — for two people who have been building something together — to get an honest look at where they actually are.
Very often the words we choose in hard moments aren't the real message. They're just the only ones available.
What Gets Lost In Long-Term Relationships
What gets lost isn't usually love. It's the shared language for it. The ability to find each other in the hard moments. The safety to say the thing that most needs to be said.
The clarity about what each person actually needs — not what they think they should need, not what they've learned to ask for — but what they genuinely need to feel loved, safe, seen, and at home in themselves and in this relationship. Most couples have never been asked the questions that surface those things. Not because they haven't wanted to. Because nobody created the space for it. That's what this is.
This Is For You If —
— You want to know where you actually are — not where you assumed you were, not where you hoped you'd be — where you honestly are, right now, together
— You've been building something together and you want to make sure you're still doing it with intention
— You want a shared language for the hard conversations — before the hard moments arrive
— You believe that tending to your relationship is as important as building it — and you want to be deliberate about both
— You sense a drift you haven't been able to name — and you want to understand it before it becomes something harder to address
— You've been missing each other despite your best efforts — and you want to understand why
— You know something needs more attention and you haven't had the right space to get into it
What Working Together Looks Like
Three sessions. Each one building on the last. Moving from the individual to the shared — from who you each are, what you each carry, what you each need — toward what you have together, what's been lost, and what's still present worth naming out loud.
Session 1
The individual work — Partner A. Who you are, what you carry, and what you need to feel loved, safe, seen, and at home in this relationship.
Session 2
The individual work — Partner B. The same honest conversation, held separately, with full confidentiality.
Session 3
The joint session. Together now — what you have, where the drift happened, what's been going unsaid, and where you honestly are. Whatever you find here, you'll find it together.
By the end you will have more clarity about yourselves, about each other, and about where you are than you had when you walked in. What you do with that clarity is entirely yours to decide.
Some couples will find their way back to each other. Some will find something they didn't expect. Some will find that the most honest thing they can do is go their separate ways — with full understanding of why, and without the ambiguity that makes endings so much harder than they need to be.
Whatever you find — you'll find it together. With someone walking alongside you who has been in the rubble himself and knows something about what clarity looks like on the other side of it.
